Black Swan

The Posters for Black Swan were created by the British design studio LaBoca. While the composition, typography, and the colour scheme are beautifully integrated, I do think that the incorporation of the image of the ballerina in the above poster is unsuccessful and diminishes from the powerful impact of its minimalist approach.

The composition of this second poster also suffers from being too busy. The symmetric oval-shaped surface in the middle distorts the visual image of swan, and white juxtaposition of white feathers disturb the overall balance,

The elegant approach of Russell Ford in this intriguing composition clearly demonstrates that you don't need a visual representation of every key elements of an story to convey a pertinent visual message.
