Pigasus an Unreal Logo

Throughout his life John Steinbeck signed his letters with a small drawing of a flying pig he named Pigasus, symbolizing himself "a lumbering soul but trying to fly", along with the Latin motto Ad Astra Per Alia Porci, or "To the stars on the wings of a pig."

According to the following letter by Elaine Steinbeck the origins of Steinbeck's trademark symbol:, "the little pig said that man must try to attain the heavens though his equipment be meager. Man must aspire though he be earthbound."

Recently Unreal an independent creative agency unveiled its new look after seventeen years of activity in the industry. Their rebrand, included "a striking new flying pig marque and bold orange colour palette aims to reinforce the company’s approach to producing unreal creative with real results." I wonder if the designers in Unreal were aware of Pigasus?

May be not. Since this adynaton is rooted in a centuries-old Scottish proverb, and apparently very popular as a logo. Here are some other examples.
