Communication design and the art of packaging
The art “Packaging” is the most immediate application of communication design. A package must communicate with the client to attract his/her attention and to convey the information about its content. Graphic designers must combine all the visual elements at their command in order to achieve this goal in the split second duration of the attention span of a customer that browses a shelf in search of a product. The visual elements include; the color, the typeface, the trademark, the brand, the material, the shape, the size and in the final analysis the artistic design that forces a customer to stop and to notice the product.
